During the first 5 year Plan the total outlay of Rs. 293.0 crores were made both in Public as well as private sections for the expansion of industries in India. Dear Friends,
I take this opportunity to express my thanks to you, the Corporate members of the Association of Engineers for electing me the President of your Association for the third time in succession. I shall depend entirely on your co-operation and co-ordination to guide me in the discharge of duties associated with the Chair.
In accordance with the customary practice, viz., to include certain technical topics in the presidential address, I wish to introduce the subject "Development of Power in India" to you to-night.
